Full-Time Administrative Assistant

Location: Detroit, MI (Hybrid flexibility considered)
Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $41,600 annually
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

About the Role

The Redstone Group is seeking a highly organized and reliable Administrative Assistant to join our property management team. As a key part of our daily operations, you will support leasing, maintenance coordination, file management, and tenant communication across our growing affordable housing portfolio in Michigan.

This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in keeping things running smoothly, enjoys supporting mission-driven work, and is comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced but supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones, respond to emails, and serve as the first point of contact for tenants, partners, and vendors
  • Coordinate repair and maintenance requests between tenants and field teams
  • Help prepare leasing paperwork, renewals, and intake documentation
  • Maintain digital and physical filing systems for leases, compliance records, and tenant files
  • Track invoices, receipts, and expense documentation for property operations
  • Support housing placement coordination with nonprofit and government partners (e.g., Section 8, MSHDA)
  • Help schedule inspections, move-ins, and property visits
  • General office support, errands, and administrative tasks as needed

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of office, administrative, or property management experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail)
  • Detail-oriented with strong time management and follow-through
  • Professional, dependable, and courteous
  • Comfortable interacting with tenants, contractors, and city agencies

Bonus if you have:

  • Experience working in affordable housing or with Section 8 agencies
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing guidelines or MSHDA compliance
  • Bilingual (Spanish preferred but not required)
  • Familiarity with property management software (e.g., AppFolio, Buildium, Rentec)
