Part-Time Roofer

Location: Detroit, MI & Dearborn, MI
Job Type: Part-Time (Flexible hours, 2–4 days/week)
Pay: $22–$30/hour (based on experience)

About the Role

The Redstone Group is seeking a dependable part-time roofer to support ongoing repairs and small-scale roofing projects across our Detroit housing portfolio. This position is ideal for a semi-retired roofer, contractor seeking steady side work, or someone looking to supplement their current income with flexible hours and mission-driven projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform patchwork and leak repairs on shingle and flat residential roofs
• Assist with small tear-offs, re-shingling, flashing repairs, and gutter issues
• Identify roofing issues during property inspections
• Communicate with our maintenance and admin team to complete work orders
• Work independently or with a helper depending on project size
• Maintain a clean and safe job site at all times

Requirements

• 2+ years experience with residential roofing systems
• Ability to safely use ladders, harnesses, and roofing tools
• Must have access to your own basic tools and reliable transportation
• Comfortable working on one- and two-story properties
• Ability to document work with before/after photos (smartphone required)

Nice to Have

• Experience with rolled roofing, torch-down, or rubber roofs
• Familiarity with Detroit housing stock
• Availability on short notice for urgent repairs
• Bilingual (Spanish is a plus)
